Overview

A Human Resources (HR) Officer is responsible for managing every aspect of the employment process, including orientation and training new staff members, supporting and developing talent through developing policies and managing procedures. They also assist with payroll management, benefits, and leave and enforcing policies.  

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job posting, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
  • Monitor and track employee performance and career progression.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Ensure that HR policies and procedures are consistently applied and adhered to across the organization.
 

Requirements

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
  • Provide clarification on policies and procedures
  • Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process
  • Create and implement effective onboarding plans
  • Assist in performance management processes
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Prepare and manage HR documentation, including employment contracts, offer letters, and termination letters
  • Support the performance appraisal process by coordinating reviews and feedback sessions.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

In this role, you are required to have the following:
  • Proven experience as HR officer, administrator or other HR position
  • Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)
  • Understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures
  • Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of HRMS is a plus
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
  • Strong ethics and reliability
 

Education and Experience

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the people with background in:
  • BSc/BA in business administration, social studies or relevant field; further training will be a plus
  • HR Credentials and Certification will be an added advantage (e.g. PHR from the HR Certification Institute)
